Guidelines and Charges for 'My JobBoard'

If you are accessing this page for the first time please take some time to read through the options.

To post your Job Advertisement/Recruitment Opportunity please follow the link at the bottom of the page.

All employment advertisements and other positions offered, which are posted via our online form, are emailed to the Careers Service and are subject to approval. We reserve the right not to accept vacancies that we consider inappropriate. Once an advertisment has been approved, it will be published on 'My JobBoard' and the Careers Service notice boards outside our office as well as faculty notice boards around campus. The cost for this service is AUD 55.00 inc GST for degree related opportunities which are scanned and emailed to all applicable students and AUD 22.00 inc GST for all Non-degree related job opportunities such as working in a club/bar, babysitting, tutoring for school students, etc., which are not emailed out via 'My JobAlert'. The advertisement remains on the job board until the application closing date has passed. For those employers wishing to have an ongoing advertisement, we ask that the application closing date is no longer than twelve weeks. After this period you can resubmit the ad. Permanent, long term advertisements will incur a charge of AUD 55.00 inc GST per twelve week period. You will be invoiced once your advertisement has been posted onto 'My JobBoard'. For any enquiries regarding the service or methods of payment, please contact the Careers Service via e-mail or phone: 02 4221 3325.

To maximise your vacancies being read by students we scan our JobSeekers Database (JSDB), and immediately email the job details via 'My Job Alert' to those candidates who meet your specifications.
[Our database volume averages between 10000-15000 students and the Careers Service web pages are constantly under the top 15 most visited pages of the University of Wollongong website.]

The UOW Careers Service has established various categories for employers to promote opportunities to our student body via our website. Within the website there are categories for students to browse, which include:

Categories on the 'My JobBoard'

  1. Graduate Recruitment Program - a formal program that sees successful students commencing employment at the conclusion of their studies
  2. Immediate Employment Vacancies (Degree Related)industry/degree related job opportunity starting ASAP.
  3. Scholarships, Internships, Traineeships, Cadetships
  4. Industrial Experience/Vacation Work - formal programs usually targeting students about to enter their final year.
  5. Voluntary Work/International Programs - Voluntary work which attracts no salary, however it can be a valuable asset to your resume (Australia and overseas)

In order to ensure vacancies for overseas English Language schools or recruiting organisations are legitimate, we require detailed information from the organisation about the business and written references from two Australian graduates who have had recent experience of being placed by the organisation. Please email this information to careers@uow.edu.au

  6. Non-Degree Related Advertisements - Non-degree related job opportunities such as working in a club/bar, babysitting, tutoring for school students, etc.

Please note:

  • Categories 1-4 --- cost: $55
will be scanned and a message with your advertisement details is emailed to all applicable students via 'My Job Alert'.
  • Category 5 --- cost: free
will not be scanned and no message to 'My Job Alert' - on-line ad only.
  • Category 6 --- cost: $22
will not be scanned and no message to 'My Job Alert' - on-line ad only.

Workplace Learning Programs

You can register your interest for any of these programs free of charge! The EEP levies a small administration fee.

  1. Employer Experience Program [EEP]
  2. Univative Illawarra [UI]

Please be careful to select the appropriate category/Workplace Learning Program for the opportunity you wish to advertise, as this determines on which web page the advertisement will appear. The life span of your advertisement is governed by the application closing date. All advertisements submitted will initially also be displayed for one week on the 'My JobBoard' page as a new listing.

Once you submitted your advertisement via the online form, please wait a few seconds/minutes - depending on the server connection - until our confirmation page appears. In case you notice a mistake in your advertisement, you can use the 'Back Button' in your browser to navigate to the original page, where you can fix the mistake. Please indicate whether this is your original attempt or a correction before re-submitting.

Please proceed to the online form for

  • Categories 1-5 here or for
  • Category 6 here.
